Shipping is the heartbeat

SpecLatch is built in continuous, small releases — this is the public record. If something here matters to your team, start a trial and see it on your own catalog.

October 2026

  • Self-serve signup: create a workspace and start a 30-day free trial without an invite — no credit card required.
  • The early-access program retired; the plans on the pricing page are how SpecLatch is sold now.

September 2026

  • speclatch.com additions: solutions-by-role pages, an FAQ, and a direct contact form.
  • Industry pages: how SpecLatch models valves, pumps, motion, and lighting catalogs.
  • Designer upgrades: gradient fills on text and shapes, image fills, seven new shape presets, per-corner rounding, and three new font families.
  • Interactive examples on the website — switch industries and audiences on a live record card.
  • Defense-in-depth improvements to authentication across the app.
  • Dashboard fix: records with linked-record fields no longer show as incomplete drafts.

August 2026

  • Full-organization export to Excel: every table, record, link, and document reference.
  • Optional AI-assisted import: column mapping suggested from your spreadsheet headers, using your own AI key.
  • Brochure & catalog engine: cross-table rollups and lookups on documents, range aggregation, bulk file attach, record photo pickers, and per-template unit display.
  • Grid quality-of-life: paste with undo, per-field revert, saved views, natural-language filters.

July 2026

  • Drag-and-drop document designer: spec sheets, brochures, and catalogs designed once, filled per record.
  • Stale detection: change a specification and every affected PDF is flagged until regenerated.
  • Public product portal per organization — published, public-tier data only, with an imperial/metric toggle.
  • Translations: portal and documents in English, French, and Spanish.
  • Read-only REST API with tier-scoped keys, plus performance-curve charts on records and documents.

Earlier

  • Organizations, invites, and role-based access control; billing with 30-day trials — lapsed workspaces become read-only, with full data export always available.
  • Unit-aware fields: store one value, display imperial and metric, convert without re-entry.
  • Dimension-checked calculated fields — formulas whose unit mistakes are rejected before they save.
  • Per-field visibility tiers: public, internal, confidential — enforced by the database on every surface.
  • Draft → review → published workflow, spreadsheet-style grid editing, CSV import, file attachments.
